Student Resources
We want to help you achieve your goals! Whether you are the leader of a student organization or a member of a club, we understand that extracurricular activities can be expensive. That is why we have put together a resource page for you to help pay for your participation in extracurricular activities.
1) Student Grant Application
The video below will walk you through the entire student grant application process...
2) Community Support
Ask your support system for help.
Ask your support system if they can pay for your participation in the extracurricular activity, event, or conference you are interested in. You can ask your parents or legal guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles, older siblings, and more. Make sure to explain why you want to participate and its benefits. If your support system decides to chip in, make sure to thank them and share your experience.
See if your school can help!
Your school may be able to help if you are unable to pay for the extracurricular activities you are a part of. If you qualify for assistance, many schools have a fund that can help supplement or fully cover participation in extracurricular activities, conferences, and events. First, communicate your need with your club's advisor, as they will know the support structures in place. You may also speak with your school's principal or administration as well.
Check with local community foundations.
Local community foundations may also be able to support your participation in extracurricular activities. Community foundations may have funds available to support your endeavors. You may call or send an email to inquire about financial support they may be able to provide. You may need a letter from your advisor and/or school administration.
3) Fundraising
It may be necessary to fundraise in order to support your participation in educational extracurricular activities, events, and conferences. There are many fundraising platforms you can use and It is important to understand the fees and tax liability associated with each platform.
